We want to build a staff team at The Reach Free School which is relentlessly focussed on improving the achievement and opportunities for our pupils. All staff that work at the school will subscribe to our ethos and values, and will seek to improve and develop their own practice and performance for the benefit of our pupils. At the bottom of this page you can read about why two of our current staff members applied to work at The Reach Free School, and what they say about working here.

Why did you apply for a role at The Reach Free School, and what is it like working there?
Collette Bridge Madden – Head of Mathematics
I have been teaching for many years and have had a very broad range of experiences and responsibilities. I was very settled and comfortable in my job. Then I saw the advert for The Reach Free School…
It made me stop and think about all the exciting possibilities a new school would offer so I decided to apply. It sounds corny but it was the best professional decision I have ever made. Working in a very supportive team to develop and teach a new curriculum is exciting as well as challenging. Also there will be lots of opportunities for career progression as the school grows.
The school has a lovely community feel to it, it’s the first thing you notice when you walk in the door. I love the fact that I know every person in the school from the Headteacher to the youngest pupil, the support staff and the Governors.
My favourite part of the day is the ½ hour we spend in Reach for a book. Sitting reading with the pupils is a great way to get to know them better and to watch them develop. The impact on their learning is fantastic.
I cannot recommend this school highly enough. Anyone given the opportunity to work here is really lucky – come and join us!
